ok but...the back to the future trilogy is classic! temporally accurate or not, they're still a+ movies.
10/10 would recommend.
but to actually address your point...i'd be more concerned about confusing the audience than boring them.
like if i was a screenwriter, i mean.
because time travel has so many rules and hoops to jump through!
i get confused just LISTENING to you or dave try and explain this crap, i wouldn't want to sit through a full two hours of it.
9 out of 10 times people don't want to watch a movie that makes them think, they want be an unthinking vegetable for two hours, maybe see some stuff blow up, and then see everyone live happily ever after the end.
